The 70th edition of All India
Ophthalmological Conference 2012, is held at the state-of-art convention centre
at Le Meridian Kochi Resorts, Maradu, Kochi from 2th February 2012 to 5th
February 2012. All India Ophthalmic Society is the 2nd largest organisation of
ophthalmologists in the world and it meets every year in the first week of
February. The conference which addresses more than 5000 delegates from
different parts of the world is managed by Impresario, Kochi.
Mr. Shashi Tharoor, MP, lighted the lamp
on 2nd February. The event encompasses a 4 day conference, trade
exhibitions and refreshment envisages, “Vision of Tomorrow’s India”. “The conference
addressed by international delegates is held at 10 world class halls of the
resort simultaneously and a trade exhibition is conducted in the convention
centre, with in the compound” explains Harish Babu, Managing Director
Impresario.
“Impresario has put up the entire
structure and plan, taking into consideration the suggestions put forward by
the committee. The conference is also eco-friendly creating a green concept
with the use of plastics, flex boards reduced to the minimum” he continues.
The event is happening in Kerala after 13
years. While the delegates are engaged
in the scientific conferences, a variety of entertaining stalls with true
Indian flavour has been arranged for their family who had accompanied them. The
inaugural day showcased a musical nite with Colonial Cousins- Hariharan and
Leslie.
