Malabar Mahotsavam is the biggest annual tourism
festival of North Kerala is unveiling tomorrow. Impresario
is managing this four day long cultural extravaganza is which is expecting 1
lakh plus audience.
Started in 1992, Malabar Mahotsavam showcases the centuries
old rich cultural heritage of Kerala and is a major attraction of domestic
tourism. Aiming to recapture and revive the traditional Malabar cultural glory,
variety performances of masters in different fields of
art will be showcased.
The four day event will have 4 simultaneous stages
with dance, music, literary festival and a theatre festival. The main event at
the beach alone is expecting will 1 lakh plus audience.The event will be
inaugurated tomorrow 6:00pm by Mr. A P Anil Kumar, Tourism Minister. Dance
performance by cine actress Ramya Nambeesan commences the show while the
musical performance of singer Hariharan will be the highlight of the final day
of the fest on February 26. Other highlights of this year's festival will be
the Manipuri martial art show- Thang Ahum Yannaba, which features a sword fight
by three performers and Basanta Raas- a dance drama of Manipur. The festival
would also have the history of Kozhikode depicted through a laser show. Other
entertainments include ghazal performances, musical evenings by Bollywood
playback singers and Rock Music shows.
